He Is Able!

Late at night, in the middle of doing some reflections in Matthew 8, I just realized that God wants us to stay calm and keep our faith in Him. Right now, maybe our world seems fall apart. Everything is misplaced. Nothing is going right. Maybe, we’re just like the disciples who face the furious storm which came up on our life’s lake. Our peaceful lake has become a mess due to the storm of life. Like the disciples, we shouted to Him, “ Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

But then, He replied, “ You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Well, I just imagined once more that I’m so scared of the furious storm and almost forgot that He got more power than anything else, not to mention ‘only’ a furious storm in my life. The only thing that matter is just my faith in Him. Maybe I’m thinking too much and not depending myself too much on Him.

Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. Yes, Jesus can do it as easy as one, two, three. He can change the situation so easily. He can rebuked the winds and the waves of our life and make them completely calm. We need to believe that He’s able to do that. And in the middle of those stormy and windy nights of our life, He wants us to stay faithful and learn something. At least we learn to hang on in Him and less arrogant, knowing that we won’t be able to make it without Him.

He can turn all the bad things upside down. He can turn our mourning into dancing. Sometimes, we just give up too easily so that we don’t have the chance to see the beauty of His plans in our life.
Sometimes, we really just need to wait for one moment. And who knows that one moment of time will be the time that He has already prepared for such a long time to fulfill His promises in our life. He is able! (-fon-)

23Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
26He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"
(Matthew 8: 23-27)
